New IIT JEE Advance Board Cutoff varies from 58% to 78%

After the meeting of IIT Senates nd MHRD, a meeting was called by Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) to discuss about about the Top 20 Percentile Criteria of admission to IITs.

Earlier, IIT Council asked all the boards to reveal their TOP 20% Cutoff. The Prelim data was released for 7 boards and it is quite clearly seen that the Cutoff for various boards Vary a lot for different Boards.

The Cutoff for various boards are :- 


Tamilnadu 78.1 %

CBSE – 77.8%

Maharashtra – 73.4

Karanataka – 67.5 %

Uttar Pradesh – 65 %

Madhya Pradesh – 64 %

West Bengal – 58 %

These figures would apply only for General category students.

The students seeking admission through Various Quotas will have their Quota Cutoff less than these values.

The cutoff of all other b oards are expected to be released in few days. It is expected that ICSE, CBSE, AP and Tamilnadu boards  to have highest percentage cut-offs.
